The Sakenan Temple
Finally today I have the chance to visit and pray at Pura Sakenan, an old temple believes to have been established in the 16th century. When I got in the parking area, I saw lots of cars and motorbikes parked and that indicates that the prayer will flood at the main gate of the temple (as you see in the picture).

The weather was fine, not too hot, may be because of the incoming rainy season, and I was enjoy to wait at the main gate without getting bored. The bad situation was when the gate open, prayer push each other, not good for kid and the woman, but everybody just then enjoy the pray without any emotion, all then turn quite and peace.

The Sakenan Temple is located at the western part of Serangan Island and surrounded by the sea and prayer will have to come on their boat, but now much easier because of the new road and bridge to the temple. It is also believed that the temple is connected with the journey of the great Dang’ Hyang Nirartha, a priest who purified the Hindu religion in Bali centuries ago.
