The Beauty of Divergence
Indonesia is a multi-ethnic country with the highest moeslim population in the world, consist with many different races and there are 6 religions avowed by the government.
Bali is dominant for Hindu Religion, around 80% of the population. And since the age of the Hindu Kingdom, the muslim people were accepted to live side by side with the Balinese. This kind of tolerence has been preserve until now.
The picture in Besakih (the largest Balinese Hindu’s Temple) (taken by shtumpi) is talking about how we unite and live together in a mutual assistance.
All the religions of the world, while they may differ in other respects, unitedly proclaim that nothing lives in this world but Truth.

The picturea doesn’t really tell anything.
Has little to do with “tolerance”.
What it shows is: “moslem tourists wearing headscarf / jilbab in a hindu temple area”.
There’s hardly any interaction in the picture that can be perceived as “tolerance / harmony”.
Try another shot.

… and please stop calling Indonesia a “moslem country”.
Forgive me for being pedantic, but we must always remind ourselves and the world that Indonesia is a “_secular_ country with the highest moslem population in the world”.
Maybe it would be better for us if from now on we start calling Indonesia a “multi-ethnic country” more often.

#dude:
Apologize, I was trying to find the picture that “tell something” Unfortunately, my Hindu friends with Muslem girlfriends wouldn’t let me upload any of thier bedroom shots, or even less provocative images…and i couldn’t stand another one of those cheesy politicians shaking hands type photos either.
However, your points are valid, clear and to the point. Any time you have some thing to express, please feel free to share with us.
Nice work Dude!
