Pura Tanah Lot located on a famous rock formation off the island of Bali in Tabanan Regency. This temple is known for the most popular picture motive for tourist and its spectacular sunset.

In 1980, because of the beach erosion, the rock under the temple was not a safe place, until there was a renovation and put hundred of big human-made rock to hold the big wave. The Temple was built in 16th century by a priest Dang Hyang Nirartha. The snakes that lives in the cave near the temple was said to be the guard of the Temple.

Tanah Lot was also the place of the biggest Kecak Dance performance ever called The Cak Colosal. The best time to visit this temple is before the sunset. It is about 45 - 60 minutes from Denpasar depend on the traffic.
