How to Get Arround in Bali

For some reason, in order to look around comfortly in the search of some good and tourism spot in Bali, you will need to hire/rent car or motor bike. Roads in Bali, especially in Denpasar are very busy. Some available public transportation are just not enough to serve the growing of new road, places, and amazing numbers of new vehicle (cars, motor bikes, etc).

Car

Suzuki Katana is so common for car rental in Bali, cheap and so efficiency. Many car rental have this kind of car. Although the size is not for ten people inside but good enought for couple or more to travel in this small island. There are many more kind of car for rent such as: Kijang(Toyota), Suzuki Taruna, Panther(Diesel Mechine), etc.

Motor Bike

The most common bike to use in Bali including for rent are such as Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki. Most of them are semi-automatic but some like Yamaha Mio, Kymco Easy, and Vario has full automatic gear. This vehicle are very useful in travel on the busy traffic in Kuta or Denpasar, save time, gas efficiency, but absolutely not good at the rainy season (unless you have rain coat).

Road Rules

Many visitor that has been rides in Bali complains about the crazy way of the Balinese drivers. Especially for the motor bike riders. Most this happent because visitor does not know the convention rules of driving in Bali. Here are the tips:

1. Always watch your front!, it is your responsibility to avoid car or bike that get in front of your vehicle. They often pulling out in front of you without even look what’s coming when they turn left at a junction unless they listen the horn.

2. if you are about to overtake, use your horn to warn that you’re behind them.

3. Motor bike are used to overtake from the left, so left space at the left side of your car, and warn way before you turn left.
