Cempaka Flower
Cempaka flower is indigenous to certain areas of South East Asia. It is a very fragrant flower, and widely used in Bali in many purpose.
An offering in the form of canang will never completed if it doesn’t have any fragrant, therefore Balinese use to add this flower. Another kind of this flower, which is bigger and yellow color is the favorite one.Cempaka also as a hair decoration for Balinese dancer or when praying at the temple.
You can sometimes find this Cempaka tree in Balinese house compound.

Hi there,
question: Anybody knows the latin name or the german one of Cempaka??
I love this flower in my garden, now I have another kind too, they call it Cepaka China, but have nothing to do with a “Dwarf Magnolia”…..

I search in google, the latin name of cempaka is “Mechelia champaka”, I have one too in my garden. There are two kind, the white one (picture above) and the yellow one which I thing has stronger fragrant.
