August, two celebration of victory
During this month, there will be two important moment for the Indonesian, especially for the Balinese.
The first celebration will be for the Indonesian Independ Day, 17 August, and other is the celebration of Galungan (20 August), one of Balinese Holy day, where everyone celebrate the Good over the Evil one.
And as you are all know, the preparation for the Galungan Day is so abvious, along the street, every house compound in Bali will stands a decoration call Penjor, you can search in this blog if have no idea what it is. And if you come from the other part of Bali, will have to go back home to celebrate it with other family member. It is like a duty, because it’s not just a celebration but the perfect time to pray for your ancestor, and of course God.

Hi, i’ll be in Bali this month.. I’d like to attend the Galungan festival which falls on the 20th August ‘08 (am i right)? Is it alright for a foreigner like myself to observe such a festival, and what can I expect?
